More April showers...
...I'm drinking a yummy glass of wine then going to bed. Will post soon, I promise! I finally got my charger for my new camera, so I can finally get some pics up. Finishing up my wine, listening to the thunderstorm outside (LOVE IT), and trying to decide what to wear tomorrow to work. Hmmm..............good night!

April Showers
Today was a fantastic, rainy day off. Went to a few estate sales, but was disappointed in the amount (or lack) of jewelry. Sad...oh well! Instead, I got the new Lucky and sat down and raided it for some new summer looks. Here is what I found...

Oversize necklaces. Again. I am going to have a full blown OBSESSION with oversize necklaces. And I will probably up the boho level and add one of my favorite scarfs to create a more layered, lightweight, thrown together springy/summery look.
Full skirts. They have been all over the runways and all over the magazines. Great with a simple tank top, and chunky necklace, and some killer heels. Also goes well with a tee...or a sweater...or a jacket...or just about anything. Tights, flats, heels, tanks, tees, leggings...the possibilities are endless!
Asymmetrical dresses. Anything asymmetrical, with one shoulder, ruffles, gathering, lace, silk, and/or jersey. Again, there are tons of options out there. I love the different ways Prada has bunched up fabric, leaving the majority of its spring and summer lines wrinkled and uneven. Etro has been using a lot of asymmetrical seams to add volume to dresses, and I am absolutely in love with Max Azria's silk dresses with random gathering and hemming. Using silk with these techniques creates a romantic, almost fluid look. Gorgeous.Another thing that I can't seem to get enough of: Lines. I am loving long lines right now...long dresses, long scarfs, long necklaces, long cardigans, skinny pants tucked into boots, wide leg pants with big heels, droopy hobo bags, loose clothing. Aaaah, I can't wait for the comfort of breezy summer clothes!
The times are changing...

...and so is my hair! I have officially decided to boycott the hair salon...I am only getting trims when desperately needed (which saves me moolah), and not coloring my hair anymore. This will save me a whopping 115 singles every six weeks. I went on this whole I'm-not-doing-anything-to-my-hair kick a couple of years ago. I believe it was actually almost exactly two years ago. No cuts, no color, no blow-drying, and lots of pre-natal vitamins. I gave up after two months, and chopped all my hair off. I hadn't had short hair since seventh grade, when I looked like a little boy. Now, I am ready to have my hair back. Here is a pic of what my hair looked like not too long before I chopped it....can't wait for it to look like that again!!!

Finally!

This is my new favorite toy to play with. I have a newfound obsession with big, chunky, statement pieces like this coin necklace. This was my birthday gift from myself, and I love wearing it with my silver bangle and my pearl bangle, and my silver braid belt. Way fun...plus, it can be worn with almost anything dressy or casual in my closet. I'm looking for a plaid top, and think I have found one at F21, to pair with the necklace...

Goodbye, winter...
I'm sitting here, drinking Kahlua and hot chocolate, in a last ditch effort to hang onto my
beloved winter. I woke up to light snow and coffee, and am going to bed on a clear spring night. So, I am drinking this so I can finish up the last of my winter stash. Now, I'm on to vodka
water with lemon. Or any kind of red wine, naturally. Mmmmmm.
Summer clothes came into work today. Remember, I said it was snowing when I woke up? Yes. Awkward. And I had two peacocks in my backyard, too. Again, awkward. Ha. They were terrified when I came out to leave for work. Tux was not happy. He does not like visitors.
Back to the clothing. Um. Cute stuff. I already have some things picked out. Hopefully, I will be making phat tips soon so I can buy some cute stuff, and pay some bills too. Picture to come soon (I promise) as well as pics from my weekend in heaven!
